Delighted to be able to advise that International projects will be well
represented at the House of Friendship this comming weekend.
Paul Manning has produced the D1260 International Stand to display some of
the many projects and activities undertaken within the District
In addition there are four Club based 'international' stands ...
Ampthill & District (Nigel Milway) will be there to talk about training
facilities for youg disabled children in Ghana
Newport Pagnall (Colin Kidby) will exhibit Shoebox
Stevenage Grange (Steve Sypula) ROI - Rotarians & friends making blindness
history in developing countries
Wolverton & Stony Stratford (John Moss) continues their mission to get
classrooms into KwaZulu Natal
In addition there will be a display by 'One Water', supporters of the
PlayPump, and my old friend Russell Richards will once again be manning the
SightSavers International stand.
Other projects will feature in a 15 minute presentation during the plenery
sessions
Stevenage Grange has produced a DVD explaining how a donation of just £4 can
fund a catarct operation and save a young sight. Produced primarily for the
international audience attending the RI Convention, advance copies wil be
available for you to collect and show your Club. A donation box will be
there for Clubs that wish to do so.
We very much look forward to seeing many of you during the weekend.
Best wishes,
Stephen for DISC
PS Don't forget the Rotary funded project - IMPACT's Lifeline Express is
being shown on BBC4 9pm this Thursday. Should make us feel proud to be
Rotarians.
