Dear friends,
May I first congratulate John Moss, (Wolverton & Stony Stratford RC), and a great member of my Comittee, for his record breaking attempt to get this matching grant placed before 31st July and just 14 days since he spoke so elliquently about the project at District Council.
Can I also thank the 25% of Clubs (see below) in District who, inspired by John have already responded and pledged between £50 and £200 to capitalise on this last chance in 2009/10 to grab some TRF (Foundation Funds). We have now reached our minimum TRF support level and will 'go' for a matching grant application. Our Foundation Committee have already guaranteed $3,000 worth of support.
Further Club donations are now a bonus. Each will achieve a 50% uplift from TRF, if the grant meets the conditions (which it should) and funds are still avaliable. Effectively each £4 donated from now in will buy not just 2 D4L dictionaries but 3+
So if you were minded to support this project please do so now. We don't need a cheque now, just a pledge to contribute between £50 and £200 so we can include your Club as a named contributor in the matching grant application and ensure you get the promotional benefits and Paul Harris Fellowship credits.
Time is short and normal protocols regrettably do not apply. This is a rapidly changing financial world. If you would like to be a party to this project please do tyalk to your Club President (who should have the information) and have a ring round your Club and email either John or I if would like to join the TRF challenge and beat the clock before 31st July.
Clubs on board so
Amersham, Amwell, Berkhamsted Bulbourne, Chesham, Hitchin Priory, Potters Bar, Stevenage, Stevenage Grange, Watford, Buckingham, Btetchley, Hatfield, Harpenden Village, Milton Keynes, Milton Keynes Grand union, Wolverton & Stony Stratford and finally our newest Club Wendover. Thanks to you all for accepting the TRF challenge.
Best wishes
Stephen
