Attached is a child mortality, fact sheet. Please distribute it amongst your
clubs and district to help us to try and reduce child mortality. There is a
big project on child mortality in the UK being developed at the moment and
hopefully within the next few months we will get it out to you to review.

Dear Rotarians:
Greetings from Evanston. As you may be aware, RI President D. K. Lee is
holding a series of membership conferences around the world during Rotary
year 2008-09. The next scheduled conference is being held in Cairo on 6-7
February 2009. To support President Lee's theme, Make Dreams Real, this
conference will feature a special half day program addressing how Rotarians
can help reduce child mortality. To learn more about this conference,
please visit <http://www.ricairoconference.org> www.ricairoconference.org.
Even if you cannot attend the conference, consider encouraging others in
your club, district, or community to learn more about the issues that
contribute to child mortality. One way to do this is by reading and sharing
the attached fact sheet, which outlines some of the major preventable causes
of child mortality, as well as some of the solutions that Rotarians are
helping to support. To learn more about specific interventions that can
help save children's lives, contact an expert from one of President Lee's
Resource Groups or one of the 16 Rotarian Action Groups:
