their reply.    As you see there is little we can do and the situation is
currently in hand.

Thanks John for your concern.    It is absolutely horrendous.   We are at
present heading toward Vic along the coast for a short holiday but won't be
going anywhere near the fire area.    There is really nothing we can
physically do to help, the authorities are absolutely overwhelmed with goods
pouring in but they are suggesting donating money through the Red Cross is
the best way to help at present.

At present we are in Mt Gambier, tomorrow will head toward Pt Fairy.   The
day we left MB was the hot Saturday, however travelling along the coast we
didn't notice the heat.  Stayed at Robe for a few days.

You will have to look the places up on a map.   The fires are north east of
Melbourne.

We are both well, hope you both are too.

What is happening in Melbourne with the fires - are you doing anything to
