Dear fellow D1260 Internationists

I was asked by John Versey to re-visit our inter-club International communications, The e-group, our first response now provides an International contact for every Club in D1260.

In addition all members of the District International Team, and some key Exec Members have chosen to join. There are now some 63 validated members. That is likely to be about tops.

We now have a live mechanism to help you progress Club projects, seek advise or gather support for your preferred projects.

Please do have a look at the updated D1260 International web pages

In the next week or two I hope to issue our first e-bulletin. This will flag up topical matters of interest, emerging Club projects, as well as any new sources of relevant information. If you have an item to 'display' please do get in touch.

In the meantime please do have a look at the District International pages, run by Guru Guruswamy of the Gt. Missenden Club. They contain some of the most up to date Club information and links to International matters probably in RIBI. Please do feel free to dip into it from time to time, or add it to you 'Favourites' list. The link is www.rotary1260.org.uk/international

Help with your Club project(s) interests

At the end of the day, this is really what this is about.

Do use this e-group to sound out, help promote, seek advise or support your Club's interests. To this end we are developing a D1260 Project template. It looks to provide base information to temp others to make further enquiries of your sponsoring Club. Please do complete this first attempt http://www.roisight.org/D1260/Clubintlprojectformjuly08.doc and return it to me. These will then be published with a suitable summary. Club projects already submitted to John Versey will be transposed those onto this new form

Don't forget that we can help you get extra financial support through District Foundation, potentially other sources.

Administrative guidance on using your D1260 International contact group e-mail facility

You are probably now feeling a bit a bit overloaded. I apologise for that, but such is the way in starting something new.

To help matters, you might wish to visit our developing help, or tips page. The first version can be found at http://www.roisight.org/D1260/e-grouptips.pdf This helps you see who else is subscribed for contact purposes, how to get support for a matching grant, how to group discussion around your project. More simply how to send a mail to all subscribers.

Do let me know if you have further points that need better explanation. We are all learning.

With thanks to Guru (Gt, Missenden) and Craig Fisher (Luton Someries) RC for your enduring support.

By way of welcome, that's it from me ... so its over to you guys to make the most of this.

Best wishes,
Stephen, Stevenage Grange RC, District International Committee
