A warm welcome,
The e-group provides a simple and more secure way for D1260 Rotarians with international interests to communicate, share ideas, seek support, and generally ensure that we are all better informed about Club interests and opportunities to serve the international cause. Its membership comprises a nominee from each Club, all District International Committee members and a number of the District Exec.
It will enable you to send group-wide messages to members on the moderated list. This might be useful if you are seeking advice on a project, a particular subject area or overseas location to support e.g. water projects in Ghana. It might also help you more generally to find ways of supporting RI President Dong Kurn (D.K.) Lee’s request to choose projects that help reduce child mortality across the globe. The membership list provides personal email addresses for one to one/many communication outside of this system.
Through this e-group, and being better informed in consequence, it is our hope that we can better help coordinate and support projects and emergency aid appeals where appropriate, through use of the Rotary Foundation (TRF) matching-grants processes, and in other ways.
It, supported by an International e-bulletin will point you to useful sources of new information. In the meantime please do have a look at the D1260 International section, run by Guru Guruswamy of the Gt. Missenden Club. It has a wealth of up to date information which may help shape your thinking or answer your questions. So why not check it out now or add this link: http://www.rotary1260.org.uk/international to your 'Favourites'
For tips on how to get the most from this e-group, such as finding other members, their Club's International initiatives, keeping subject correspondence together for reference, please do visit our e-group tips
If you need advise on how to submit a successful matching grant, why not download a copy of our Novices Guide to Matching Grants or contact John Moss (Wolverton RC) for personal support. Other 'volunteer' subject advisors can be found here
If you need other help to ensure your committee has a successful & enjoyable year please do let us know.
Best wishes, Stephen
